SUMMER SOLSTICE
nobody could touch me now
my skin would burst like glass
nobody could talk to me now
the words would cause a
thunderstorm inside my head
nobody could love me now
my heart is spiked with frost
my legs are too weak
to carry the weight
of missing you
I envy the birds for
their unburdened flight
as the pain of the height
of summer without you
cuts through my body
